This home was 8 months in the making and has had many changes to it during the design process. Starting with only an empty lot and a vision this home began to take shape around the needs of the family that will occupy it and a few pictures of design details. This home was alot of fun to put together because of the open thought in design that was allowed to be applied to it. See for yourself through the drawings below how this home has transformed over the design period and what the final plans look like.

It is designed with lake living in mind, featuring views from all the living areas and kitchen on both floors with an impressive cathederal ceiling line and a 12 foot tall palladian window configuration that can only be seen from the rear sunroom, and the great room inside the house. Another notable feature about this home is the stairway to the basement. Originally it was designed so that upon entry, the line of view down the stairs would allow a view of the lake through the basement walkout windows, however that idea has transformed to a balcony opening in the stairway (see drawings) in an effort to make the basement area not feel so much like a basement, almost giving it the feel as an extension of the great room itself. It's definately going to be exciting to see how this one turns out and if in fact it does lend itself for that feel.

This home has not been built yet, it is still in the quote stage and as far as I believe, they plan to begin construction in early spring 2008. I will definately post pictures of it when its being built, and of course when its finished.

Here is the balcony area around the stairs, this was done to give the feel of the lower lever a "non-basement" feel, and more an extension of the great room itself.
Also notable is the large kitchen. Sized almost like a commercial use kitchen, it is seperated from the great room both with a lower ceiling line, and wood panelled and trimmed columns that come up through the raised bar countertop featuring plenty of seating around it. This kitchen was designed with entertaining in mind.

Here are some of the seperate designs this home has gone through, at one point it had an entire second floor hidden in the roof system with 2 bedrooms, a bath, a game area that overlooked the greatroom and the lakeview, and a bridge seperating the 2 story foyer and the 2 story great room.
